<p>The role of the Director of Library Services is to provide leadership and oversight as the lead facilitator of individual and collective knowledge-gathering and access through the architecture of a college library system. The Director interacts extensively with students, faculty, staff as well as with members of the public and peers in Michigan Community Colleges and with local, regional and state-wide professional networks and consortia. The Director is a twenty-first century librarian, who understands that technology is constantly changing the way we view and use libraries. The Library Director is charged with challenging the staff to evaluate, analyze, organize, package and present information from a variety of formats and locations, understanding the role of information in society; and using a variety of tools and approaches to increase access to knowledge. The Director provides leadership for the library with all College departments and promotes strategic planning in order to achieve the shared goal of student success. The Director develops relationships with other libraries, locally and at the state level, to foster collaborations and partnerships which further the strategic initiatives of Academic Affairs and the College.</p>

<p>The ideal candidate is an ambitious self-starter with excellent organizational skills, high energy, and an analytical mindset. An interest in libraries, librarians, and technology are a plus.</p>
<p>Primary Responsibilities</p>
<p>·        Coordinate the production and marketing of as many as 3 webcasts per week</p>
<p>·        Manage the global webcast calendar and project timeline for each webcast or event, working with the sales rep(s), sponsor contact(s), webcast vendor, and presenter(s) to ensure quality events</p>
<p>·        Work with the editorial team(s) and/or sponsor(s) to develop an accurate and enticing event title and description to be used for all marketing materials, and work with the marketing design team for all creative materials</p>
<p>·        Build marketing and registration pages, email notifications, and email marketing deliverables using appropriate templates and best practices</p>

This position will be available late summer 2013.  The Town of Wellesley, with a population of 28,000, is a predominantly residential community located approximately 13 miles west of Boston.  Wellesley has an excellent school system and has three colleges within its boundaries.  The Wellesley Free Library serves the Town of Wellesley through a main library, two branch libraries and a staff of 68.  Budget: $2.25 million; circulation: 730,000; and collection: 300,000 items.  This busy library has a long history of providing high quality services, both traditional and innovative.</p>

The Dougherty County (DOCO) Public Library has a vacancy for Director of the Library. The DOCO Library system is located in Albany, Georgia, the business and cultural center of Southwest Georgia. The Dougherty County Public Library serves a population of 96,000 through a central library and 2 branches, with 30 FTE staff members (7 professionals). The current budget is approximately $2.1 million.<br />

<strong>EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:</strong><br />
The Director of the Library administers the overall library program for Dougherty County in accordance with Library Board policies, available funds and statutes of local, state and federal laws. Working independently and collaboratively with OSUL&amp;P colleagues, the Student Engagement &amp; Community Outreach Librarian will work directly with student groups, and will seek out and build relationships with student-centered units and programs across campus, especially those supporting traditionally underserved populations.  He or she will work both independently and collaboratively with colleagues in the Teaching and Engagement department to support the Libraries’ instruction program and to develop innovative new teaching initiatives.</p>

<p>Oregon State University Libraries &amp; Press seeks a collaborative, innovative and service-oriented Librarian to develop and maintain the technical infrastructure for OSU’s digital library /repository/preservation services.  In support of the OSU research enterprise, excellence in teaching, and the Land Grant mission of the University, the Librarian is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and deploying new technologies, tools, and resources to extend and enhance digital content and services, and developing application programming interfaces (APIs) to facilitate multiple submission and discovery tools.</p>
<p>The Librarian will:</p>
<p>·       provide leadership and guidance for the Libraries on existing and emerging technologies including digital repository, discovery and preservation systems</p>
<p>·       write and/or modify code and conduct quality assurance on code contributed by other developers</p>
