Assistant/Associate - Research Data and Government Information Librarian

The University Libraries at Western Michigan University seeks candidates for the tenure-track, fiscal-year position of Research Data and Government Information Librarian.
The Research Data and Government Information Librarian collaborates with other units across the WMU community to develop and provide coordinated support for research data management and curation that is responsive to local needs. This position provides consultation and reference services on finding and using data, builds awareness and support for managing data and educates the community on best practices for data collection, management and preservation.
The position also serves as the WMU Libraries Government Documents depository coordinator, developing and managing the Federal Depository Library Program (FDLP) collection and selection profile, currently selecting 50% of available items. As part of the Research Services Unit, this position provides specialized research support for data and government information sources. It interprets materials, educates and assists users and develops preservation and management plans for materials and collections.
A master’s degree from a graduate program accredited by the American Library Association (ALA) and relevant professional experience are required.
