This position requires a specific skill that includes; being comfortable with the creative aspect of multimedia, having the technical skill to efficiently work in complex database systems and is also highly process oriented. They also need to be motivated and have the people skills to be able to work well with creative-types and customers.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Digital Asset Management, Library Science, History required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 4 years of experience managing or working with a large scale Digital Asset Management platform.
Under the Senior Manager of Multimedia, the Digital Asset Management Librarian manages all photography, 3D and video assets created, controlled and distributed by the Multimedia Marketing department. Archive and distribution channels include but are not limited to: the Gulfstream Digital Asset Management system (DAM), SharePoint and network drives as well as FTP and video review websites. The position will maintain standard operating procedures for all assets created and archived in the Gulfstream DAM, oversee ingestion and delivery and advocate for asset management best practices across the Marketing Organization.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential Functions: 1. Manage the Gulfstream DAM, working across departments to maintain accurate assets and access needed to support both operational and strategic goals. 2. Executes licensing, record keeping and distribution of Gulfstream branded assets internally and externally thru online and physical distribution systems. 3. Researches and recommends best practices and processes for effective asset management. 4. Provides reports and metrics to Multimedia and Marketing leadership on digital and physical marketing assets 5. Assists and trains end users and content providers on the correct asset management process and procedures. 6. Support preservation and digitization of physical film and slide assets for the Multimedia Marketing photography team. 7. Research and integrate new asset management technologies providing recommendations to Senior Management. 8. Registers internal users (employees) to the DAM system based on permissions 9. Facilitates uploading, archiving and retrieval of assets into the system. 10. Maintains quality and utilizes metadata schemas and standards for the creation, description, preservation, and access of digital assets. 11. Maintains and generates accurate asset reports to identify areas of the DAM for optimization. Perform other duties as assigned.
Other Requirements: 1. Working knowledge of Widen DAM, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office preferred. 2. Proficient with the Adobe Suite - Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom (Premiere Pro a plus). 3. Proficient in the use of compression technologies. 4. Familiarity in implementing and managing a DAM system. 5. Experience with production/post production workflows or camera to computer processes. 6. Strong knowledge and understanding of Rights Management. 7. Excellent organizational and time management skills to manage multiple priorities under tight schedules. 8. A successful candidate will possess strong technology, planning, project management, and communication skills, in addition to an eye for detail. The individual must demonstrate creating, preserving, and managing digital and physical assets and collections, which includes applying digital preservation standards and intellectual property rights. The individual must work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
