PowerNotes is a Chicago-based edtech startup creating online web and mobile productivity tools that primarily serve faculty and students at higher-ed institutions and high schools. PowerNotes gives its users a more efficient and effective way to navigate the online research process, with the aim of generating better writing outcomes. PowerNotes is a venture-backed and plans to grow significantly over the next couple years. Compensation will include a base salary, commissions, and stock options commensurate with experience.
Our ideal candidate is someone with experience selling into law schools, law firms, and managing those relationships. This opportunity has high growth potential, as the right person would help build a team to grow PowerNotes usage in the legal field starting with legal education and moving into other areas of the law.
(Depends on level of experience. Positions available for both mid-level and senior level sales managers.)
Law degree and 3+ years of experience selling into law schools and law firms
Understanding of legal education and law firm sales processes (provost-dean level, law libraries, legal writing programs, and/or IT departments)
Proven track record of being able to source and close deals
Ability and desire to work in a startup environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Prior experience in ed tech, publishing, database sales, and librarianship preferred
This job is located out of our Chicago (West Loop) office, but remote, US-based applicants will be considered. Moderate travel is required.
