About American International College:
American International College is a private, coeducational institution of higher education located on a 70+ acre campus in Springfield, Massachusetts. The campus has 42 buildings on two sites approximately 1/2 mile apart with a total of approximately 660,000 gross square feet. All aspects of circulation responsibilities on weekends including but not limited to faculty course reserves of articles or books, donations of any kind, patron holds for reservations, fine collection, and general collection of books.
Opening and/or closing the library on Saturdays and Sundays. Responsible for assisting students with library equipment, i.e., troubleshooting, ensuring printers are equipped with paper, and submitting IT work orders for equipment repairs. Perform patron counts and activities. Submitting work orders for building and or other facilities
All aspects of monitoring of weekend student workers including but not limited to training, scheduling, tasks review, provide documentation of performance to evaluating supervisor.
Basic reference assistance on weekends including but not limited to patron assistance and phone queries.

Required Degree(s): High School diploma
Preferred Degree(s): Associates or Bachelor’s Degree
Preferred Field of Expertise: Experience in a library setting preferred
Preferred Training/Cert: Preferred Office Suite Skills; technology skills; database skills
Excellent communication skills
Preferred Office Suite Skills; technology skills; database skills
Must be able to interact with a diverse population
Possess excellent customer service skills
Ability to work on the established schedule of Friday late afternoon, Saturday and Sundays with possible weekdays as needed
This is a part time, non-exempt, twelve month, non-benefited position scheduled for 16 hours per week. Normal hours for the position are:
- Fridays, 6:00pm - 8:00pm (academic year) and 2:30pm - 4:30pm (summer)
- Saturdays and Sundays: 9:45am - 5:15pm with a thirty minute unpaid lunch break
The schedule for this position is flexible to the needs of the department.
