Directs and manages the South Carolina State Library.  Exceptional proven leadership and critical thinking skills required. Must be an excellent communicator with an emphasis on partnership building, which will enhance statewide programs and promote resource sharing.  Must have the ability to be a change agent and inspire others to move towards and with the future and have the ability to use the tools of the new information environment.  Must have excellent organization development and strong budgeting skills. 

Minimum and Additional Requirements:

Master’s Degree in Library Science from an accredited American Library Association institution. Minimum of 10 years experience, preferably in a state library agency or public library, with increasing responsibility.
