New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) seeks a dynamic leader for the position of Dean of Libraries. Reporting to the Provost or his designee, the Dean of Libraries will bring and implement a vision of the 21st century library that enhances interdisciplinary study and collaboration across a global institution. A newly created role at NYIT, the Dean of Libraries will provide vision to the university about the role of the library in 21st century higher education. S/he will have a thorough understanding of the role that technology plays in the library as a physical and virtual collaborative space that can facilitate creative, cross-disciplinary learning and research activities.

Ideal candidates will have two Master’s Degrees, one in Library or Information Science from an American Library Association accredited program, and a second subject Master’s Degree; PhD preferred; a minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in a senior administrative position in an academic library setting; and a record of scholarship.
