Production Manager
The Production Manager is responsible for the leadership, operation, and staffing of the crews for the daily production of oriented strand board (OSB). The Production Manager ensures the safe operation of equipment, the quality of OSB, achievement of production targets, and operator-level maintenance of all equipment to a high standard.
Responsibilities:
- Review processing schedules or production orders to make decisions concerning manufacturing requirements, staffing requirements, work procedures, and duty assignments, considering headcount, budgetary limitations, and time constraints.
- Direct and coordinate production and labor to improve margins.
- Develop or implement production tracking or quality control systems, analyze production, quality control, and other operational reports to identify production problems.
- Mentor assigned personnel to promote efficiency and build leadership and team skills.
- Direct process improvements in the work area to enhance efficiency.
- Communicate effectively with team members to minimize miscommunications.
- Coordinate with other senior staff on personnel, safety, finance, and purchasing issues to enhance all functional areas.
- Lead by example.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the General Manager.
Requirements:
- Demonstrated success in leading a manufacturing production team with at least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- BS or BA diploma or equivalent experience.
- Strong leadership and experience in developing supervisors.
- Ability to work as part of a team and contribute to team value.
- Experience in developing methods or procedures to enhance efficiency and improve margins.
- Ability to define and communicate expectations and hold people accountable.
- Set performance standards and monitor individual and team performance.
- Train others to gain efficiency and increase production levels.

- Demonstrated success in leading a manufacturing organization as an OSB Production Manager.
