Job Description
Railroad cars will come into the shop requiring various repairs. The candidate will disassemble/reassemble and change parts on large equipment attached to railroad carts using various impact/power tools. The role will also involve occasional use of a torch/plasma cutter and utilizing blueprints/schematics to ensure the accuracy of each job. Each job/repair will vary due to being a custom repair shop.
Responsibilities
- Disassemble and reassemble parts on large equipment attached to railroad carts.
- Utilize various impact/power tools for assembly and repair tasks.
- Occasionally use torch/plasma cutter for specific tasks.
- Follow blueprints and schematics to ensure job accuracy.
- Adapt to varying repair jobs due to the custom nature of the shop.
Essential Skills
- Assembly experience of 2+ years.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Proficiency with hand tools and impact tools.
- Experience with power/impact tools.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Enjoys working with hands and assembling/disassembling equipment.
- Willingness to learn.
- Blueprint or schematic experience (nice to have).
- Strong mechanical aptitude.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Arcola, Illinois.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr.
