PEER SUPPORT SPECIALIST PRSS
REPORTS TO: Clinical Supervisor
COMPENSATION: $18-$21 per hour DOE
JOB SUMMARY
Recovery Syndicate is seeking highly skilled and dedicated Behavioral Health Technicians or Peer Support Specialists to join our esteemed treatment team. This role integrates direct patient care with administrative responsibilities within our substance use disorder treatment program. The successful candidate will demonstrate both professional expertise and a profound commitment to supporting individuals on their recovery journey.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Conduct comprehensive initial intakes, including biopsychosocial assessments, screening tools, consents, and other requisite documents in accordance with admission guidelines, and accurately document in KIPU.
- Deliver direct support services, including:
- Leading group lectures on 12-step recovery.
- Promoting health and wellness.
- Managing crises and documenting participation and progress.
- Perform vital sign checks (temperature, heart rate) as required.
- Secure clients' personal cell phones at the commencement of treatment sessions.
- Facilitate psychoeducational groups/lectures.
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding ongoing services and the benefits of treatment engagement.
- Uphold client confidentiality by ensuring HIPAA compliance.
- Provide emotional support while maintaining professional boundaries.
- Facilitate client transportation as necessary.
- Prepare DAP progress notes, event notifications, and other required documentation.
- Maintain a safe treatment environment in compliance with ADHS and Joint Commission standards.
- Complete daily Environment of Care (EOC) checklists.
- Collaborate effectively with a multi-disciplinary team.
- Support medical and clinical staff.
- Coordinate discharge planning and continuing care.
- Conduct safety and contraband checks.
- Monitor and document patient belongings.
- Employ crisis de-escalation techniques.

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE
- Previous experience in behavioral health settings.
- Proven experience in group facilitation.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a BHT.
- Experience with commercial insurance and cash pay clients.
- Valid Arizona driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Capability to operate a 15-passenger van.
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND ATTITUDES REQUIREDTechnical Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel).
- Knowledge of EMR systems (KIPU).
- Familiarity with 12-step programs.
- Expertise in clinical documentation.

- Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card.
