BASIS Scottsdale Primary is seeking qualified candidates for a Special Education Teacher to start ASAP!
The role of the Special Education Teacher is to work directly with students to identify and fulfill needed educational services and supports as part of a student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP). Special Education Teacher participates in IEP meetings and provides support to the general education teachers regarding classroom interventions, student accommodations, modifications, and special education requirements.
Required Qualifications

Primary Job Responsibilities
<ul>
<li>Work with students with disabilities in small group settings or 1:1 setting.</li>
</ul>

<li>Interact directly with assigned students to fulfill IEP requirements.</li>
<li>Fulfill required provisions in student plans, including service minutes, by providing specially designed instruction and facilitating other supports and/or related services.</li>
<li>Provide instructional interventions and academic support to individual students or small groups.</li>
<li>Providing case management services for students with disabilities, including coordination of IEP team meetings, parent communication, program development, special education service provision, individualized education plan implementation, and compliance</li>
<li>Ensure compliance with all state and federal special education requirements.</li>
<li>Facilitate IEP meetings. </li>
<li>Oversee the initial evaluation and reevaluation process from start to finish, including coordinating and facilitating MET meetings, coordinating the participation of contracted service providers, including the school psychologist and related service personnel, and completing the evaluation report and eligibility paperwork.</li>
<li>Collaborate and assist general education teachers in implementing IEP requirements for their students to ensure the availability of a FAPE.</li>
<li>Collect and maintain documentation associated with IEP and ensure confidentiality and integrity of student records and progress information:
<ul>
<li>Record requests for incoming students</li>
<li>Set up students in IEP-Pro</li>
<li>Request record transfer (if previous school used IEP-Pro)</li>
<li>Request records from previous school electronically if school does not use IEP-Pro</li>
<li>Collection of student data from classroom teachers and providers for upcoming IEP and MET meetings.</li>
<li>Collect data and report progress on annual IEP goals.</li>
<li>Prepare and report accurate and timely data for internal and external regulatory purposes. </li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>Supervise itinerant-related service providers to coordinate service schedule, IEP meeting, initial and re-evaluation meetings, and regular communication with providers a FAPE is being provided.

<li>Maintain regular, full, predictable attendance.</li>

<li>Develop a working knowledge and understanding of general education curriculum to adapt the content appropriately to deliver specially designed instruction to eligible students with disabilities. </li>
